 note = {The purpose of this study was to examine the duties to avoid collition with any person in skiing. In order to determine the liability in skiing,lawsuits of skiing accidents in Japan were studied. There were 6 judicial precedents of skiing accidents. Three of them were the lawsuits of accidents by col1ision with other skier. The results obtained from the reasons for judgrnent of these three lawsuits,the major liabilities to avoid collision with any person were as follows, ? To know the range of his own abilities to negotiate any ski slope and to ski within the limits of such ability; ? To avoid moving skiers already on the ski slope; ? To heed all posted information; ? To maintain control of his speed and course at all times when skiing and to maintain a proper lookout 50 as to be able to avoid other skiers; . However,it is necessary to survey more lawsuits of skiing accidents and assumption of risks.},
