We collected about 1,500 oriented samples at 72 outcrops of the Aira Tn (AT), Daisen-Kurayoshi (DKP),Aso-4,Sanbe-Kisuki (SK), and Ata tephras. These tephras are distributed widespreadly in Japan and are important marker beds in the Quaternary research. The magnetic susceptibilities of AT ,DKP,Aso-4,SK,and Ata tephras range between 0.04 and 7,between 1and 12,between 7and 8,between 0.02 and 0.5,and between 1and 4μm3kg-1,respectively. A general decrease in magnetic susceptibi1ity of each tephra with the distance from the eruption center is recognized, but we cannot identify individual tephras based only on the magnetic susceptibility. The wide ranges may be due to depositional and post-depositional conditions}, pages = {31--46}, title = {第四紀テフラの帯磁率}, volume = {47}, year = {1995} }
